On 17 November 2025, the 'NWA Do-ReACT' Call for proposals will open. With a budget of €3,440,000, this Call for proposals aims to contribute to the validation of methods that do not involve animals for the safety assessment of chemical substances. The ZonMw Open Competition round for 2026 is in full preparation and is expected to open around mid-February 2026. The deadline for submitting the preproposal will be early April, 2026. Starting in 2027, NWO will be making a change to the Rubicon program. From that year onward, there will be two application rounds per year instead of three.
