The preparations for the new ZonMw Open Competition round have started
ZonMw is offering 15 talented researchers the opportunity to do innovative research outside traditional frameworks. With a grant from the Off Road programme, they get the opportunity to further develop their out-of-the-box idea or hypothesis during one to one and a half years.
NWO has awarded Veni funding of up to EUR 320,000 to 174 promising researchers from across the full breadth of science. This will allow the laureates to further develop their own research ideas over the next three years.-
In mid-June 2021, innovative teams of researchers can once again submit project ideas for the ZonMw Open Competition. With the current pandemic situation, everybody is under a lot of pressure. Therefore, instead of 2 months, we will give applicants 4 months of preparation time to submit their project idea once the funding round has opened. The deadline for submissions is mid-October 2021.

Preparations for the new Off Road 2025 round have started. This new round will open on December 10, 2024, and the deadline for submitting grant applications is January 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
