We have commissioned the GO FAIR Initiative to implement the first steps of VODAN. VODAN stands for Virus Outbreak Data Access Network. This implementation network aims to shape data about the current corona virus outbreak in a way that makes them accessible for learning-algorithms (according to the Personal Health Train principle). - Afbeelding
31 research teams will be able to start their project thanks to funding from the ZonMw Competition round 2021, which has a total budget of €24.2 million. This enables the laureates to develop an innovative line of research over the next 5 years and further expand their research group. - Due to rapidly increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) worldwide, our current arsenal of antibiotics is becoming less and less effective in treating bacterial infections. After new antibiotics are introduced, bacteria quickly develop resistance against them. As a result, the return on investment in new antibiotics is minimal and their supply is scarce.
