During the first edition of the Gender in Research summer school Tessa Magnée learnt that taking sex and gender into account in research goes beyond focusing on the biological differences between the sexes; social and cultural gender differences are also important. Together with classmate Aranka Ballering, they reflect on lessons learned. - A loss of smell often occurs following a COVID-19 infection. The majority of patients recover from this quickly, often within a month. But in 6 to 8 percent of patients, the symptoms can persist and a disrupted sense of smell may arise.
