On behalf of the Netherlands, we are part of the international partnership Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR), currently a collaboration between 28 member countries. Many projects funded under the framework of the JPIAMR already resulted in outstanding publications that range over One Health areas (Human, Animal, Environment). Animal research often fails to predict human responses and raises ethical concerns about the morality of using animals for experiments. The public-private consortium MOMENTUM will investigate these questions in the coming years. - Cryptosporidium is a unicellular parasite that can cause intestinal inflammation and diarrhea in humans and animals. New typing methods will be applied to gain insight into the types of Cryptosporidium.
