Nursing Leadership and co-determination

With learning pathways and individual grants we support talented nurses, nursing specialists and carers in developing their personal leadership qualities so that they can increase their ability to influence policy and funding in care.

Individual grants

To encourage the development of personal leadership qualities, a number of highly talented nurses receive an individual grant to set up their own line of research that connects the perspectives of science, practice and education.

Nursing leadership programme

With the Leadership Mentoring in Nursing Research (LMNR) programme that is now being realised for the third time, scientific research by nurses into improved patient care has been placed on the research map permanently. A total of 28 nurses who hold a PhD have completed the training in the first 2 LMNR programmes.

Leadership by and for carers

Carers form the largest group of professionals in elderly care and district nursing. But they are the group least seen by management, policymakers and researchers. However, in the exploratory research into caring leadership, they take centre stage. And in the Care for Better workplace, they work together with other carers and care and welfare students to make knowledge about caring leadership better accessible and to optimise tools for use in practice and education.
