Announcement grant: Improving dementia care and support in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Integrated care
The care and support for people with dementia is called 'integrated care'. This means that different care and support professionals from various disciplines work together to jointly provide care and support. These include the general practitioner, medical specialist, nurses, home care, paramedics, social worker and providers of day activities. In addition, informal caregivers such as family caregivers are also involved.
What for?
Grants are available for projects that seek to improve care and support for people with dementia in the ABCSSS Islands. Applications can be submitted for applying new interventions, sharing best practices and implementing existing methods. The goal is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their loved ones.
What?
2 types of grants can be applied for:
- Grant for projects aimed at improving collaboration in chain care and/or improving the quality of care and support in chain care. These projects have a maximum budget of €100,000.
- Grant for providing targeted training for caregivers working in dementia care and professionals in the social domain. These projects have a maximum budget of €50,000.
Available grant
A total of €450,000 is available for this grant call. There is allocated budget for up to 3 projects for each type of grant. If there are insufficient applications (that meet the minimum requirement for awarding a grant) for one type of grant, this budget can be allocated to the other type.
Who?
This call is aimed at organizations and (yet to be formed) partnerships that are active on Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius or Saba (ABCSSS islands) in the chain of care and support for people with dementia. These may include healthcare institutions, educational institutions, research centers and non-profit organizations.
When?
The grant call will appear on the website in May. The deadline is 8 July 2024, 2PM. (Central European Summer Time).
This grant call is part of the Dementia Research Program, in collaboration with the ZonMw program Caribbean Health Research and with the ZonMw program Day activities for people living at home with dementia (ADMD).
