ValNAM: Validating and implementing new approach methodologies in a regulatory context
Deadline:This call for proposals aims to validate existing animal-free innovations in a regulatory context. This call is intended for consortia consisting of at least one Dutch and one German organisation, of which at least one public organisation and one commercial company.
Who can apply
The call is open to public-private consortia formed by at least one academic and one private partner, one from the Netherlands and one from Germany. Each consortium must consist of partners who are eligible for funding from the funding organisations participating in this call (ZonMw and BMBF). The involvement of regulatory authorities prior to submission is advised or required (depending on the readiness of the technology) in order to promote regulatory approval. Participants from countries other than the Netherlands or Germany may be part of the consortium, but they cannot claim funding from this round.
What for
The ValNAM call for proposals offers funding and a framework to stimulate the validation and implementation of existing animal-free models. Eligible projects validate an existing animal-free, humane-relevant method that is at a technology readiness level (TRL) of 3-7 in terms of development. The aim is to raise this level during the project and that they can eventually be used in legal safety and/or efficacy assessments through inclusion in guidelines.
