Who can apply
The Vidi target group consists of researchers at the stage of transition to leadership. Applications can be submitted by candidates who have obtained their PhD, irrespective of whether they hold tenured positions and of whether they come from the Netherlands or abroad. Researchers can apply if they obtained their PhD in the eight years preceding this round's benchmark date of 1 October 2023. Extension may be granted in certain cases.
What for
The aim of the NWO Talent Programme is to provide creative opportunities for adventurous, talented, pioneering researchers to do research of their own choice, to develop their own innovative line of research and to further develop their talent. The Vidi grant is intended to fund scientifically innovative research and enable these researchers to establish or expand a research group.
For an application in this Call for proposals, a maximum of € 800,000 can be applied for. The maximum duration of the proposed project is five years. If the proposed project is of shorter duration, the maximum amount is reduced proportionally.
