New call for proposals to advance microplastics research
Today, the call for proposals Microplastics & Health - Continuation MOMENTUM-NL opens. ZonMw invites the MOMENTUM-NL cluster to submit a proposal for continued research into the health effects of microplastics. The research should generate actionable insights to reduce the health risks and support the development of effective interventions.
The goal of the call for proposals is to generate actionable knowledge on how micro- and nanoplastic particles (MNP) affect human health and how exposure can be reduced. The new project will build on existing research and focus on 5 key areas: contamination pathways, health effects, microbial risks, risk assessment, and interventions. These areas are based on a broad assessment of needs, carried out by ZonMw as part of the current update of the knowledge agenda.
Call for proposals on invitation
The € 2.26 million call for proposals is by invitation only and directed to Prof. Juliette Legler, who leads the MOMENTUM-NL cluster. Within this cluster, the MOMENTUM consortium and 7 breakthrough projects work together. The partners in MOMENTUM-NL will form a new consortium, which may include both current and new partners.
