ZonMw Gender and Health offers Gender in Research fellowships for starting researchers (PhD and post-doc up to 5 years) to participate in the Gender and Health course and the Gender in Research workshops during the Erasmus Summer Programme from 19-23 August 2024. Please note: the correct submission deadline is April 25, 2024, 2:00 PM.
Who can apply
- The Gender in Research Fellowship is open to PhD students and post-docs.
- Applicants who are post-docs can only apply up to 5 years after their PhD.
- This call is open to Dutch and non-Dutch applicants. Applicants do not need to be registered in a Dutch PhD programme and/or live in the Netherlands to be able to submit an application.
- It is mandatory for Gender in Research Fellowship recipients to attend both the ESP Gender and Health course (course code ESP78) and the Gender in Research workshops (course code ESP79).
- Recipients of an Erasmus Summer Programme Fellowship are not entitled to a Gender in Research Fellowship.
What for
The fellowship gives (inter)national starting researchers the opportunity to participate in the intensive summer school program on sex and gender in health and research.
What to request
This call offers space for up to 20 fellowships.
ZonMw pays the registration fees for the courses. In addition, ZonMw will book accommodation including breakfast at The Social Hub in Rotterdam from 18-24 August 2024. The following additional costs can be claimed, up to the total fellowship amount.

Budget
The maximum amount for a fellowship is a maximum of €2,000 per grant for applicants living in Europe and €2,500 for applicants living outside Europe. Additional costs for attending the ESP Gender and Health course and Gender in Research workshop are at the recipient's own expense.

Decision: early June 2024.

- Sign the statement of agreement to submit a full grant application and add. For this grant, the declaration only needs to be signed by the Main Applicant.
- Write the application in English
- Use your first and last name as the title for the application in My ZonMw.
- For duration and start date, enter '1' and '18-08-2024' respectively.
- The fellowship is only valid for the 2024 ESP Gender and Health course and Gender in Research workshops. If you are unable to participate in 2024, any positive decision will be withdrawn.
