European Partnership OHAMR
The European Partnership One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) brings together 53 organisations from 30 countries in the European Union and beyond. Building on the success of JPIAMR, this partnership will join forces for research and innovation and tackle the global challenges of AMR by deploying an integrated One Health approach.
10-year programme
The EUP OHAMR, launched in June 2025, will address the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) for the next 10 years from various perspectives and through an integrated One Health approach. A total of 250 million euros is available for the partnership, including 75 million euros of co-fund from the European Commission. In addition to launching joint transnational calls for proposals on research and innovation, the partnership has 3 implementation programmes: capacity strengthening, data exploitation, and impact.
Contribution from the Netherlands
Similar to its predecessor JPIAMR (2011-2025), ZonMw is also an active partner in the EUP OHAMR. Besides contributing to joint transnational calls, ZonMw hosts the secretariat of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and leads the work package ‘Maximising the use and reuse of AMR related resources for research and innovation’ (WP5). Other Dutch organisations that participate in this partnership are NWO and KIT.
