CSA HDHL Food4Health

A key objective of HDHL Food4Health is to better align research and innovation priorities relating to nutrition, diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and climate change across Europe. In doing so, the programme aligns with collaborations within Horizon Europe and the needs of the European Commission. In this way, HDHL Food4Health contributes to healthier people and more sustainable food systems.

HDHL Food4Health brings together researchers, policymakers, businesses and citizens to define joint priorities. This is achieved through co-creation workshops and other activities. This collaboration ensures that knowledge is utilised more effectively and that research can be applied more quickly in policy and practice.

In addition, the programme brings together international funding organisations to jointly allocate funding and finance projects. In this way, transnational collaboration is encouraged and cross-domain projects are made possible.

The programme also organises activities for Early Career Scientists from HDHL projects, actively coordinating with Early Career Networks from various research domains to develop activities jointly where possible. In addition, work is underway on a training programme for dietitians and other practice support staff, with the aim of better supporting them in finding, understanding and applying scientific knowledge.

HDHL Food4Health is part of the wider HDHL network. This network has long been working on collaboration in the field of nutrition and health across Europe. HDHL Food4Health builds on this existing collaboration and strengthens activities such as joint agenda-setting, calls for funding and knowledge-sharing.

The programme is coordinated by ZonMw. ZonMw ensures the overall coherence of the various activities, communication and coordination with the European Commission and other international partners.
