Aim of the call

The goal of this call is to stimulate active collaboration between researchers with and without access to high-end technologies. The Technology Hotel concept entails that researchers who do not have access to high-end technologies (the guests), can obtain access to these technologies and the connected expertise and infrastructure via a service-oriented facility (the Hotel) with the ambition of realizing active follow-up collaboration.

What can be applied

Support can be requested to access the following high-end technology areas:

  1. Bioinformatics, Computational and Systems Biology
  2. Genomics (incl. Next Generation Sequencing approaches)
  3. Proteomics & Structural Biology
  4. Metabolomics
  5. Bioimaging & Phenotyping (incl. Advanced Microscopy and Medical Imaging)

Conditions

Requirements:

  • The projects need to be carried out in the Netherlands within the domains of the Topsectors LSH, Agri & Food or Horticulture & Starting Materials.
  • The Hotel access has to be used to generate and integrate novel data for the groups concerned.
  • All applications must be in English.
  • Data should be published in an open access manner where possible.
  • Per main applicant only 1 Hotel project can be requested.

Main applicant is the Hotel Guest in a role of the project leader: a scientist (PhD required) from a Dutch public research organization.

Budget

The maximum ZonMw subsidy that can be requested is €30,000. The Hotel project has a fixed duration of 12 months. A company (co-applicant, not the Hotel) has to cofund minimally 10% of the requested ZonMw subsidy in cash and or in kind.
