Process- and effectevaluation of a community-based intervention program to improve determinants of health in deprived neighbourhoods in Eindhoven.

ocio-economic inequalities in health and the challenge to reduce these inequalities, are important issues in health promotion. This study aims to evaluate the process and effect of an integral community-based intervention to improve determinants of health in deprived neighbourhoods in Eindhoven. Six neighbourhoods will be assigned to the intervention program or the control conditions. The intervention program is accompanied by action research techniques to adjust the intervention continuously to the needs and experience. Measurements will include both process and outcome indicators. Data will be collected in panel surveys, registrations, interviews, document analysis, etc. The results will be analysed in a multilevel framework. By combining different research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) sources of relevant evidence for effectiveness will be gathered following the principles of triangulation.
