In het TREAT NL register worden gegevens verzameld van patiënten met matig-tot-ernstig atopisch eczeem, die behandeld zijn met een systemische behandeling of lichttherapie, met als doel de inhoud, kwaliteit en doelmatigheid van deze zorg te verbeteren. Inmiddels maakt het TREAT NL register deel van de internationale TREAT Registry en is het geïmplementeerd in verschillende centra, waaronder het LUMC, Erasmus MC en Universitair Ziekenhuis Gent.

Resultaten

Op deze data zijn analyses uitgevoerd om de beschikbare behandelingen te vergelijken ten aanzien van effectiviteit, veiligheid en kosteneffectiviteit. De resultaten van deze analyses zijn gepubliceerd in verschillende wetenschappelijke artikelen en worden inmiddels toegepast in de praktijk. De data in het register zullen ook worden gebruikt om in de toekomst analyses uit te voeren om zo de langetermijneffecten en veiligheid van de behandelingen te monitoren.
 

Samenvatting bij start

Het TREAT register is een (inter)nationaal register voor het verzamelen van gegevens van patiënten met atopisch eczeem, zowel volwassenen als kinderen, die behandeld worden met systemische immunomodulerende of lichttherapie.
Atopisch eczeem is een veelvoorkomende chronische en jeukende huidaandoening. De meeste patiënten worden succesvol behandeld met lokale therapie. Een minderheid komt vanwege de ernst en onvoldoende ziektecontrole in aanmerking voor een vorm van lichttherapie of systemische therapie, die veelal off-label wordt toegepast.

Het register is gebaseerd op een TREAT core dataset voor het beantwoorden van onderzoeksvragen, die is ontwikkeld op basis van internationale consensus om poolen en vergelijken van data mogelijk te maken. Met het register wordt beoogd real-life data te verzamelen op de lange termijn om inzicht te krijgen in de effectiviteit, de veiligheid en de kosteneffectiviteit van de verschillende behandelingen.

Eindverslag

In het TREAT NL register worden gegevens verzameld van patiënten met matig-tot-ernstig atopisch eczeem, zowel volwassenen als kinderen, die behandeld worden met een systemische behandeling of lichttherapie. Atopisch eczeem is een veelvoorkomende chronische jeukende huidaandoening. Een deel van de patiënten komt vanwege de ernst en onvoldoende ziektecontrole in aanmerking voor een vorm van lichttherapie of systemische behandeling. Inmiddels is het TREAT NL register geïmplementeerd in verschillende centra. Het register is gebaseerd op een dataset, verkregen op basis van internationale consensus, om het samenvoegen en vergelijken van data te faciliteren. In de toekomst beogen wij meer (lange termijn) gegevens te verzamelen om de beschikbare behandelingen te kunnen vergelijken ten aanzien van effectiviteit, veiligheid en kosteneffectiviteit.

Samenvatting van de aanvraag

The TREAT Registry is a national and international registry of children and adults with moderate-to-severe atopic eczema (AE) aiming to gather data on their photo- and systemic immuno-modulatory therapies (including new and expensive biological therapies). Atopic eczema (AE) is a common (400 000 patients in the Netherlands) chronic, itchy, inflammatory skin disease that can have a major impact on the quality of life of children and adults and their immediate surroundings. Serious AE patients are treated by means of photo- or systemic immuno-modulatory therapy. Of these mostly off-label applied therapies, there is insufficient evidence on the short and long term for the effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness. Moreover good comparative research and real-life data are lacking. With the arrival of new expensive treatments it is crucial to get insight into these treatments in order to improve quality of care. By means of a prospective registry these data can be collected and help to obtain information for clinical practica ("spiegelinformatie"), for answering research questions, for reducing costs and implementing the results by guidelines and decision aids. Through an already established eDelphi study, all stakeholders can provide input into the core data set of the registry. During this project governance, database and IT structure will be developed. Registration will take place at the source. Among others, the Dutch atopic eczema patient organisation (VMCE), the Dutch dermatology association (NVDV) and pharmaceutical companies support this project.
