You can reach the secretariat of your relevant programme via email or phone as usual, although the working hours and availability of some people may have changed, for example because of child care duties. We ask for your understanding in this. Mail will be collected regularly.
[Update May 20, 2020] All meetings will take place digitally or will be moved to a later date. Your contact person will get in touch with you this.
[Update May 20, 2020]
The highly exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus outbreak puts healthcare professionals and the healthcare field under pressure and has consequences for the process of ZonMw grant applications. We are committed to making sure everyone has equal opportunity to submit applications, carry out research or to participate in our committees or as a reviewer in our grant application rounds. The current situation asks a lot from applicants, project coordinators, committee members, reviewers and project and research participants. To make things a little bit easier for them, and to ensure everybody has a fair chance, we have taken these measures.
No, all physical meetings have been cancelled till September 1. Some meetings might be postponed to a later date. Please consult www.zonmw.nl for any new dates.
[Update April 23, 2020] Depending on current developments, additional measures may follow. Please keep an eye on this page for more information.
The advance funds, as agreed upon in the project budget, will be paid out as would normally be the case. If the end date of a project would be delayed because of the corona crisis, you can put in a request with ZonMw for a budget neutral extension. At this point in time, ZonMw cannot give any decisive answers yet about how to proceed if an extension of the project would lead to increased costs.
ZonMw takes part in several international calls. The ZonMw policy to extend the submission deadlines of all open grant application calls with a closing date between March 17 and April 30 by 2 months, does not apply to these international calls. As ZonMw is not the only funder involved in these calls, the general ZonMw policy does not necessarily apply. It will be discussed with the other funders involved in these initiatives if it is possible to extend the submission deadline. For more specific information we would like to refer you to the contact person who is mentioned in the call text of the particular call.
[Update April 22, 2020] For new subsidy rounds that opened after April 13, tailor-made measures have been established. We will announce these measures as soon as possible on the relevant programme page on this website as well as on the Funding Calendar when a call for proposals has been opened.
The submission deadlines for all open calls for proposals with a deadline between March 17 and April 30 have been extended by two months. However, there are also some exceptions. Please consult the funding calendar (only available in Dutch) for the most up-to-date information.
The submission deadline for all outstanding grant calls with a deadline between March 17 and April 30 will be extended by two months. The submission dates will be adjusted as soon as possible. Keep an eye on the subsidy calendar for the current submission dats and information.
For the programmes NWO-talent programme (vernieuwingsimpuls/innovation impulse), Rubicon and NWA-grant application calls the NWO measures are applicable.
We can imagine that you might need a bit more time to finish your progress or final reports because of the exceptional circumstances related to the corona outbreak. If this is the case, we can extend the submission deadline by 3 months. Please contact your relevant ZonMw programme manager about this.
A budget neutral extension may be requested if necessary. Contact the ZonMw programme manager about this. ZonMw will put in place a simple procedure to arrange this.
All interview meetings will take place digitally.
Review meetings for grant applications that have already been submitted will take place via phone or online teleconference systems. These meetings can only go ahead if the necessary quorum is met.
Please contact the relevant programme manager with questions about ongoing research.
