The network grants programme is designed to encourage the formation of networks of scientists, and of scientists and practitioners, working in the field of health research and development. One option available is the provision of partial funding for meetings of scientists in the Netherlands, lasting one or more days. The grants take the form of a guarantee covering up to € 2,500 for a one-day event, and up to € 4,000 for a meeting lasting several days.

Applications may be submitted all year round, but must be received at least three months before the meeting is due to take place.

ZonMw as main funding body
ZonMw may also decide, on an ad hoc basis, to act as main funding body for scientific meetings. No amounts have been fixed for this type of funding, applications for which must be submitted at least six months before the meeting. See also Conditions.

Conditions

ZonMw is keen to promote networks in the Netherlands. Scientific meetings are the perfect place to exchange ideas and research results, as well as giving research scientists and practitioners an opportunity to understand each other better. Organisers of scientific meetings can therefore apply to ZonMw for sponsoring.

To qualify for sponsoring, ZonMw will expect the meeting to:
· actively foster the formation of networks
· contribute to innovation
· be open to anyone involved in the field in question
· encourage the active involvement of young researchers
Though these four conditions refer to health research and development in the Netherlands, they are not intended to prevent foreign guests from attending.
