During the first call for Practically Oriented Research of the programme Electromagnetic Fields & Health (EMF&H), it appeared that many proposals, despite interesting research questions, had flaws in structure and phrasing. Therefore, ZonMw organized a workshop for researchers planning to submit a proposal for the second call. During this workshop, Eric Roubos (chairman of the program committee EMF&H) explained what ZonMw expects from a proposal, a native speaker explicated the ‘ins and outs’ of formulating a proposal in English and in ‘speed dates’ the participants assessed their own abstracts with expert coaches.
Furthermore, the workshop appeared to be a good occasion to meet fellow researchers and even possible collaborations were discussed. The assessment of the new proposals - planned in the fall of this year - will demonstrate how successful this workshop was.
