EvaluationDiabetes

The experiment will be evaluated by the RIVM (the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment). Therefore the 10 Care groups must report data (both quantitative and qualitative) about the medical outcome and about the organising process of forming an integrated Care Group. Furthermore the RIVM will collect data by interviewing the professionals, insurers and patients involved, about their experiences and satisfaction with this way of organising, paying and consuming the integrated care.

The RIVM started mid 2005 with preparatory work in collaboration with ZonMw. In 2006 they developed the list of necessary data and worked in the ‘ICT taskforce’ to prepare standardisation of data and to advice Care Groups and ICT companies on the appropriate ICT. The Care Groups were given a great part in the developing of the data list. In 2007 and 2008 the data, both quantitative as qualitative, will be collected and analysed. The interviews with patients, members of the Care Group and insurers are taken twice, in the baseline period and after 1 year.
